Chafer Fabrics are the special industrial fabrics mainly made of dipped Nylon 6, Nylon 66 and Polyester yarns. Chafer fabric has quite high breaking strength. Chafer fabric is used for connect the shoulder and the rim of a tire. Sft is a leading supplier of Chafer Fabrics. We produces a variety of woven chafers, using Nylon (Polyamide) 6 or 6,6 material either with multifilament or monofilament yarns.

Our multifilament chafer can be divided into two types: "wicking" and "non-wicking", while single-filament edge protection fabrics are only anti-hygroscopic.

 The "moisture absorbing" type of edge guard is used for tires that require an inner tube when inflated. The "anti-wicking" type of edge protection fabric is used for tubeless tires that are directly inflated.

 We use a special resorcinol formaldehyde latex (RFL) treatment process to ensure excellent adhesion to rubber. Our unique RFL treatment ensures the anti-hygroscopic edge guard is airtight.

 Our fabric weight ranges from 85 gsm to 400 gsm and fabric width ranges from 100 - 150mm. All specifications can be customized according to customer needs.

The chafer fabric can be produced with both a fringe selvage or a cut and heat sealed selvage as required.
