# How to change a circular saw blade.

## Step 1: Gather necessary tools.

Before beginning the process of changing a circular saw blade, you will need to gather the necessary tools. This typically includes a wrench, safety gloves, and of course, the new saw blade that you plan to install.

## Step 2: Unplug the saw.

For safety reasons, make sure to unplug the circular saw from the power source before attempting to change the blade. This will prevent any accidental starts while you are working on the blade.

## Step 3: Secure the blade.

Locate the blade guard on the saw and retract it to expose the blade. Use the wrench to secure the blade by holding the blade and turning the wrench counterclockwise to loosen the bolt holding the blade in place.

### Step 4: Remove the old blade.

Carefully remove the bolt and washer that is securing the old blade in place. Slide the old blade off the arbor shaft and set it aside in a safe place.

### Step 5: Install the new blade.

### Step 6: Test the saw.

After the new blade is securely in place, test the circular saw to ensure that the blade is running smoothly and that it has been properly installed. Make sure to wear safety gloves during this step to protect your hands.

## Step 7: Adjust the blade guard.

Once you have confirmed that the new blade is working correctly, adjust the blade guard back into its original position to cover the blade. This will help prevent any accidental contact with the blade during future use.

## Step 8: Plug the saw back in.

Now that the new blade is installed and the blade guard is in place, plug the circular saw back into the power source. Your saw is now ready to be used with the new blade installed.
